My Beettan Story:

I have recently heard a statement and the best piece of advice from a social justice reform leader named Van Jones. He made the statement, “Do we have to see it to believe it, or do we have to believe it before we see it?” I can’t begin to describe how this simple little statement has transformed my life and how applicable it is in so many areas.

I came to hear about BEETTAN from my cousin Amanda. I have extremely fair skin and the sun, especially these days, is torture to my pale face. Don’t get me wrong, I love the sun. I crave to bask in its comforting rays, my basking time however is very limited. Amanda was raving about this woman named Michelle and how she has this amazing product and that this would be great for me to try. I have always been reluctant to get a spray tan because every self-tanner I have applied has turned me orange and to be quite honest, I was never impressed with how the spray tans look. I decided to take Amanda’s advice and try this BEETTAN stuff. I was immediately impressed. Not only with the product but with Michelle’s personality, drive and knowledge.

My background:

I am Dana Lucas. I am a 45-year-old former teacher. I currently reside in Waycross, Georgia. I am a native and lifelong resident. I have taught elementary school for the last 18 years. I loved teaching children but  the politics and administrative policies pushed me further away from the joy more and more each year. I began to venture out and work additional jobs along with teaching to hopefully find the spark in something that would push me to no longer be a teacher. I started managing a liquor store and I loved the concept of owning my own small business. Around the same time Amanda started discussing the perks of being a BEETTAN babe. For me, the business model concept was perfect, perhaps the most flexible way of working and building a small business that I have seen. Before the students returned to school this year, I resigned. I didn’t give a notice. I made a decision. Made my move and now I am a business owner and an official BEETTAN BABE. I am in uncharted waters. I have sprayed one person, and that was in training. But I believe. I believe in Michelle and her product. I believe that this opportunity is going to allow me to reach others and make a difference. I believe that taking my career into my own hands is going to manifest many great things. I can’t see the end of the road yet, but I believe.

Fun Facts!

If I could switch places with someone for a day, I would want to switch with someone who is completely opposite from me. I would love to see life from their perspective, maybe get a better understanding of why they believe what they do. Perhaps become a little more compassionate towards them, rather than critical.

My dream mentor would be a combination of Morgan Freeman, Anthony Bourdain, Brene Brown and Queen Latifah. I can’t pick just one.

I enjoy writing and reading books. I love to cook, especially for my family and other people.

I have learned over the past few weeks that I can do anything. I just have to get my mindset aligned with what I want to accomplish.  I hope that every person considering becoming a part of BEETTAN feels what I’m feeling now.
